Welcome back everyone!!!! Thank you for reading this past month I am grateful that you all have been listening to what I have to say! This week I am going to focus on saving and traveling.

While we are not able to travel a while for everyone’s safety because of the pandemic. This is the perfect time to make a list of everywhere you want to go once the pandemic is over. Not only should you make a list of the trips you want to go on. But you should start saving now for the trips that you want to take!
The biggest concern when you are planning to travel is MONEY. You are stressing about spending money, saving enough money for the hotel and flight. It can stress you out! BUT now is the perfect time to save for those vacations you want to take once it is safe to travel again!

For my young travelers who are between the age of 18-29 looking to travel on a budget because of college, first job, or whatever reason. You need to look into EF Ultimate Break! EF Ultimate Break allows you to travel inexpensively all around the world. Traveling is not only cheap, but they give you the opportunity to pay off the trip with monthly installments instead of all at once. Allowing you to budget your money easily and see the world. When I was a freshman in high school I went on an EF Educational Tour to Italy, France and Spain with my friends and a couple of teachers/chaperones. It was affordable for our parents and one of the best experiences I have had!

Unfortunately we aren’t able to travel the world because of the pandemic for our own safety. But don’t be afraid to make some plans now for when it’s safe to travel again! Save some money, do some research and be prepared to travel the world when you can again!

Fun fact all of the pictures in this post are pictures I’ve taken on vacations that I’ve been on! If I can see the world so can you!

Afterpay and UNiDAYS!

Welcome back ladies and gents! Now that we have talked about saving before spending, this week we are going to focus on tips and tools to help you smart shop and get more for your buck!

One tool that helped me shop all throughout college was the app UNiDAYS. UNiDAYS is a app for college students where you get discounts to a number of retailers and have coupons for everything from clothing to education, health and beauty, technology and food. These coupons actually work and help you save more money to get more for your buck or put more money away! I use this app during the holidays especially when I do my Christmas shopping and it’s been a lifesaver! All you have to do is enter your university and put your school email, create a password and you have access to endless coupons!

Now we all graduate university, and the UNiDAYS does monitor when you graduate college and you can’t use this app and all of its perks forever. However, there is another tool that I also use when I am shopping, and that is Afterpay. Afterpay is another application that allows you to make purchases with a variety of retailers. You pay your purchases off in 4 installments over the course of 2 months. These are interest free installments and this is also a great tool for budgeting and learning how to make payments at a young age.

I know I can’t speak for everyone but I love to shop! And it always feels like an internal battle of deciding if you should treat yourself or feel guilty for spending any money instead of saving more than you already did. It is OKAY to treat yourself every now and then! As long as you’re being responsible treating yourself every now and then without feeling guilty is absolutely fine!

Save Before You Spend!

Warren Buffet said it best  “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving”. The first step to saving money when you shop is saving money in your bank account in the first place! Every other Friday when I get paid, I have Autopay set up on my Chase Mobile App. Autosave is a tool on the Chase App where you can set up a certain amount of money to be taken out of your checking account over certain periods of time (every two weeks, every week, beginning of the month, and the end of the month). While not everyone may not bank with Chase, if you have your banks mobile application. It is important to check out all of the features and tools that the application has to offer you. Using Autosave features allows you to save money without having to constantly worry about doing it on your own. That way when you get paid, you are free to enjoy yourself as much as you want treating yourself to shopping, travel and dining. Already having saved money for yourself and the future!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my Savings Shopping blog! As college students, we all struggle between saving all of our money for our future and wanting to live our best lives while we are young. I am one of them, but if 2020 has taught me anything it’s that you have to enjoy each and every moment. I was over feeling this dilemma within me of having to either give up money for my future or giving up memories I could be making with my friends. So I started thinking why can’t  I do both?  I have been doing research and discovering new tips and tools to help me shop smart and save money at the same time. And I know I am not the only young adult struggling with this! I will be giving you tips on shopping for clothing, travel, and dining out options! Let’s save and live our best lives together.
